07:34 pm - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
For the next 13 weeks I'm going to try to juggle, 2 jobs, fulltime uni and assignments, japanese adult ed., a committed relationship and bootcamp 3 mornings a week. I'm feeling run down and tried already. Just need to power through and think of the ending. I just don't know how I'm going to do assignments when I'm already feeling so tired. I need a couple of days off fully. I might take them next week.

Things are going ok though. Just.so.tired.

08:00 am - exams
I got up way too early for my exam today. I'm prepared so I didn't need to wake up at 6 and get up at 6.30am! meh. I have a fuzzy head but I'll be fine today. Counselling skills 1 exam, won't be that hard if the questions are similar to last year (which I think they will be).

So sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy! I had too much caffine yesterday so took me awhile to pass out last night, even tho I was really tired.

better finish off this revision tho.

03:37 pm - I challenge you to a game of procrastination!
I'm at uni at the moment. In the library, crunching loudly on rice crackers while everyone is trying to study. It's not completely silent so it's not too awkward. I've procrastinated most of the day away, although I've written out a few of my lectures, I'm yet to commit them to memory completely. I'll get to it after this post and I go get some more water.

Yesterday was a hat trick in terms of awesomeness. I got a call back about a job I applied for at a Rehab centre run by the Salvation Army. I got the job, which I thought I would as I felt I did well in the interveiw. I go in Monday morning to sort stuff out. Then I got my role play feedback back from my counselling skills 1 course and I got a high distinction (80%). One of the top marks in the class worth 50% of our overall mark. We have the exam on Thursday so I should sort my shit out and get on with the study! Then finally I got another assignment back and got a semi-average mark but gretel and I went for a run which makes up the rest of that crap mark to get a hat trick day of awesomeness.

I'm so glad I got another job. Holidays are on their way and I get very apathetic/bored if I don't have stuff to do... Although I really REALLY need to vacum the house. It's disgusting. The job title is night supervisor at the Bridge centre. Shifts are 5pm - 11pm and 11pm - 7am. Which isn't too bad. Job involves breath testing and urine testing, handling crisis calls from the clients and brief intervention. Clients are 18 - 75 but most are between 24 - 48. I really like the set up of the program, which has been successfully run for years now, and can't wait to get my experience bar up before I go to Japan... I felt pretty grr arg the past week or so. I just wanna get up and out of here. This new job should give me something to focus on other than leaving though.

On another side note. I did something to my knee and the chiro strapped it up with material tape. Awesome. I got the BIGGEST, reddest, rawest, ITCHIEST rash from it ever. So just incase you're with me when I have an accident and I'm knocked unconcious please let the medics know I'm horribly allergic to material bandaids.

Tax times soon! I hope I get money back or don't have to pay any more!

YAY! Thank you Kevie for stimulating me so appropriately. I got myself an msi wind that is loading on the bed behind me! I got it from www.tech4u.com.au. OMG why would anyone buy stuff from Harvey Norman, Dick Smiths or the like? The netbook I got was $150 cheaper than all the stores I went too ($620 for the msi wind U100. Now I can jump on whenever and maybe I might update more regularly... who knows?? It will be awesome when Gretski and I travel, that's for sure and I can pretend to be listening to my lectures drone on when really I'm wasting time on teh internetz...

yay!

10:36 am - just filling in non facebook time.
So I haven't really started posting things as much as I wanted to but maybe I'm just a little over the internet. *GASP* never! My sister pulled through her operation and is doing well. Chemo to come now but I think she will be ok. It's pulled our family closer together.

Uni is easy and work is great but I might not have a job in 6 weeks as our program might not get funded for another year. MEH to the community sector and no job security... Ah well I can always go back to bar work if needs be. I really love Youth Beat though. We've had some really interesting and crazy shifts lately proving how much we're needed out there during times when other businesses are closed.

and I thought this was pretty funny www.youtube.com/watch

I hope people turned their lights off for earth hour last night too!

04:54 pm - It's good to be sane.
So much keeps happening but I just don't feel like writing about it. I've been keeping up with reading friends posts though.I'm still about.

I headed to Queensland for the week last week. As soon as I stepped off that plane I felt 100% better and less stressed. Gretel and I wasted the first day inside playing wii, watching DVD's and sleeping. It was AWESOME. First full day we've been able to waste doing nothing together in months! We've both just been working our little butts off. Gretel works Mon - Thurs and I work Fri - Sun so it makes it hard to get a full day together. Ah well that will change soon! The school year finishes soon and g-star will be freeeeeeee! YAY! I'm also putting in for some different work in the community sector so fingers crossed I get that and won't have to work weekends any more.

We got our results on Friday and I SMASHED my exams... ok didn't smash them but I got 3 credits and a distinction, which for me is smashing since two of the them were the hardest subjects I've done yet (human neuroscience (distinction) and cognition and memory). Now I graduate on the 18th Dec. WOO HOOOOOOO!! I've been accepted to do a grad dip in counselling but if I get a full-time job in the sector then I might just give it a miss. I've lots of saving to do next year as I want to go to Japan and teach end of next year then do some more travels after that. Plus the experience I'd get from working rivals that of the grad dip. Although I do like the idea of extra training... hmmmm. It's hard to decide. People say I could get the jobs I want without that extra bit of training and that might be so but I don't think I'd be able to do the jobs as well without that training.

Anyway things are going really well, although we're on a break from Boot camp for 2 months till our trainer comes back from holidays. It's ok, I'll get pudgey over the christmas hols then spend next year working it off!

Hmmm I'm hungry, I wonder what we'll have for dinner... Curry?

11:47 am - I'm done, done like a dogs dinner.
I fell down the stairs today. It really really hurt. But maybe it was more the shock/fear of falling the whole 20 stairs and killing myself that made me cry like a baby.

ooo above sentence I found saved in a restore draft thingy... anyway...

I JUST FINISHED MY FINAL UNDERGRADUATE EXAM EVER... Could I feel any better or happier? I could almost cry again. It's taken me so long and been such a MASSIVE journey of discovery. Now it's at an end. I'm done. My last exam the hardest, I smashed and it felt so FUCKING good when the lady said 'pens down'. Now that's it! I've an interview in an hour for masters of counselling for next year. Gives me the official qualifications to register as a counsellor. Oh god I actually finished and accomplished something a part from getting my drivers licence. HOORAY!

2 weeks and we get our results.

I'd like to relax now but I have to work this weekend and we have a house inspection on monday and the house is a pig sty. Damn exams.

YAY! YAY YAY YAY YAY! I'm not a failure! (not that I count my worth by my accomplishments but damn it feels good to be able to haha!)

So I made Gretel get up this morning for bootcamp. She wasn't too happy about it and whinged the whole time but I know that by the end of it we're going to feel so good. It only goes for 4 weeks but we'll do it again after this one before taking a break. For the next four weeks at least we'll get up at 6.30 to start at 7 in the gym tues, thurs, sat. Shuttle running, boxing, pushups, sit ups, crunches, tricep pushups and more running will be our breakfast. We've done it before and it works so well. Only thing this time is she is going put us with a partner not of our choice, which could be annoying. I'd rather just stick with gretel but always good to meet new people... as long as they're not gay haters.

Only made it to 5.7 on the beep test and 5 man (on toes) push ups (lotsa girl ones tho). I want to make it to 6.5 on the beep test next time and 10 man push ups!

For $80 it's a bargain!

10:51 pm - massive rant
In the past week there have been a few incidents which have starkly and emotionally reminded me that the world we live in is unequally fucked. That we are surround by stupid, uneducated, socialised homophobes as well as religious nuts who 'tolerate' us and pity the 'choices' we have made or who are openly rude and violent. I think the stupid, uneducated people make me more mad (although the Christians and their power scare me more) because it is just simple stupidity and ignorance that has led them to the unfounded fear they have of us... which has often led them to religion. I know a lot of educated religious people who tolerate us, which at least feels better than open hostility, but it hurts so much when you realise a friend who is religious believes you shouldn't have the same rights as them.

We went to a primary school assembly to promote our service for work. It was lovely and I realised that I could definitely see myself going back to school after I'm finished with this counselling career path to do teaching. I really liked this idea. Then at the end of the assembly the principle called out a big farewell to one of the teachers who was going on maternity leave, and to her husband and all the best blah blah blah. That's when I realised how shit it would be to be gay and in the schools system. What if I had kids in a same-sex relationship? It'd get swept under the rug and forgotten. You'd constantly be made to feel ashamed and you couldn't be open with the kids about it.

It's fucked up. So I'm hoping that 15 years down the track that won't be an issue, but right now it sucks arse. Why aren't we fighting harder for our rights? Because the gay and lesbian community is cut off from the real world. Because if your gay and grow up 2 hours away from a big city, if you survive long enough you move to the city and place of support. But why the fuck should you have to leave? We are wrapped up in cotton wool and pretend that we have the same rights as everyone else but that is BULLSHIT.

Wake up and smell the roses people. Being queer isn't just about your sexuality it's a state of mind. It's a political movement and it's evolutionary. You can be gay and still not queer but you can also be 'straight' and queer. It's about opening your mind to the real world, Not hide ourselves in the gay community, as safe and comfortable as it may be.

If the biggest gay community is in Sydney then why is it that it is in Tassie the leading gay and lesbian rights reforms are happening? *sigh*

rant rant rant

Anyway, this week has really gotten to me in regards to feeling like a second class citizen. I've been fairly sheltered my whole life. My parents are wonderfully accepting of my relationship with Gretel, in fact they treat her like a daughter-in-law. I am so thankful for that. My closest straight friends (flatmates and some old catholic school friends) have no issues with it. So I've been able to primarily close my eyes to reality. It just sucks when reality comes knocking.

*EDIT: There were also boguns who stared and whispered at us then were openly rude pointing at us and laughing. There were the boys who rudely asked us if we were lesbians but that was sort of ok because when I said yeah the guy was like 'good on ya's'. Then there's gretel's friends who openly insult us, not on purpose, they're just stupid, but Gretel doesn't stand up for herself but she also shouldn't have to.

I am so procrastinating my life right now. I should clean and get started on my assignments. Should I get into my jammies to do this? yer. probably. I'll be more comfy.

Presets on thursday. woot! I would like to become spasticated at the event but I have to work the next day.

Gretel got an awesome new bike. I think I'll ride into town or something.

03:06 pm - procrastinating as all ways
Back to procrastination from study but I really shouldn't get behind this semester, I couldn't handle the stress I caused myself last semester at exams from slackness. Damn you slothful laziness and I didn't really do much in that time. I just didn't do much at all. Damn apathy.

Just discovered the beautiful voice of Laura Marling.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yA3w6p96Ff8

'Lover please do not fall to your knees, it's not like I believe in everlasting love.' argh! Her voice is like angel kisses to my ears! I really like Young Love by the Mystery Jets featuring her too.

I really need to get back to the gym. I got my monthly two weeks late today with pains that napro didn't fully beat. Usually napro fixes me good and proper. I think it's because I've been lazy.

Work again tomorrow 12 - 7. eeeeeeee! Jonathan (team leader) and I get along really well and opening up to each other as we go along. Found out he is a transman (wait is that the term for transitioned female to male?) Anyway, he's nearly 40 and has so many stories to tell and lots of info to fill up my mind.

09:28 am - rock you like a hurricane!
So Gretel uploaded the short vid I took of her playing with Clare Bowditch. It's from the Solo part to the end and you can find it on youtube HERE. I couldn't help by cheer so you get me randomly yelling through it sorry and singing along... I suck at being a cameraman! but then so were heaps of other people! Her mum has a better one so will upload it when we get it.

cut for photo... )

This semester is shaping up to be pretty intense. With youth working as well, which is going really well but is mentally tiring, I've learnt most in the past two weekends at work than I have in an entire semester at uni. Maybe that's because I'm able to put the principles to the practical now?

So for a break we're going to spoil ourselves to this in September: Luxurious Self with Spa and panoramic water views. A very popular suite for special occasions, lavishly decorated with antiques. An elegantly set breakfast table awaits you in the privacy of your own suite. This Suite has 3 rooms, Lounge with open fireplace, Spa, light cooking facilities are provided to cook a full breakfast at your own leisure. .B,fast PROVS /FRESH FRUIT YOGHURT ,FARM EGGS/ BACON+SHALLOTS or Tas smoked salmon cheese /shallots. TV DVD free movies .Port chocs.Internet/laundry.

eeeeeeeeeeeeee! I can't wait :D
